My names Matthew, I am 13 years old and have been playing the flute for around 3 years. I heard about Cleveland Concert Band from my primary school music teacher who I began my flute journey with. After lots of wondering what the band was like I decided I wanted to find out more so went a long to a band practice in early October 2023. It was the best thing I have ever done. The band is super friendly and very welcoming, myself and my mam very quickly felt included. I am enjoying getting out to new places with the band. Beamish is very cold at Christmas but it was such a brilliant experience. I enjoy attending band every Tuesday evening. I have made many friends as its such a nice group, I have learnt lots from playing with experienced members. This has helped me believe in myself and grow in confidence. I would definitely recommend coming along and giving it ago. I'm certainly glad I did
