I lived in Kent most of my life. I played piano and took up flute in my teens playing in an Air Cadet Band. When we moved to North Yorkshire ten years ago, I decided to give brass a try, and joined Northallerton Silver Band. They were kind enough to give me a start on cornet, which I played for eight years. I moved on to Tenor Horn and find I'm much more comfortable with it. I still play for them, and Femmes Fortissimo- and all women band based in York with players drawn from many bands across North Yorkshire and York. We come together once a year to give a charity concert in aid of 'Survive'. I enjoy meeting other players and members of the public when we play at events.
